So you want to delete or reset your Bland.is account? Let's help you with that!

Our system has detected one of two potential issues:

  1. Compromised Password: The password you use for Bland.is has been found in a known data breach, making it insecure and putting your account at risk.

  2. Use of Work Email: Your work email is being used for a personal service, which is against company policy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.

Part 1: Scenario: Your Password Has Been Compromised

If you were notified about a compromised password, you must change it immediately to protect your account from unauthorized access. The fastest way to do this is using the "Forgot Password" feature, even if you still remember the old one.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Login Page: Go to the Bland.is homepage. In the top-right corner of the page, click on "Innskrá" (Log In).

  2. Find the "Forgot Password" Link: A login window will appear. Directly below the password field, click the link that says "Gleymt lykilorð?" (Forgot password?).

  3. Enter Your Email Address: You will be taken to a new page. Enter your work email address (the one associated with the account) into the field and click the "Senda" (Send) button.

  4. Check Your Email: Bland.is will send a password reset link to your inbox. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder.

  5. Create a New, Strong Password: Open the email and click the reset link. Create a new password that is unique and not used on any other website.

After completing this, your account will be secure.

Part 2: Scenario: Your Work Email is Used on the Account

Using a company email for personal services is against Aftra's security policy. You have two options to resolve this.

Option A: Change the Email on Your Account (Recommended)

This is the best option if you wish to keep your Bland.is account and its history.

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Log in to your Bland.is account. Click on your username in the top-right corner and select "Stillingar" (Settings) from the dropdown menu.

  2. Find the Email Field: On the settings page, locate the field that displays your current email address.

  3. Update and Verify Your Email: Enter your new personal email address.
    Click "Vista" (Save). Bland.is may send a verification link to your new email address to finalize the change.

 

Option B: Permanently Delete Your Account

 

If you no longer need the account, you can delete it permanently.

Warning: This action is irreversible. All your data, including ads, messages, and profile information, will be permanently erased.

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Follow Step 1 from Option A to access your "Stillingar" (Settings) page.

  2. Locate the Deletion Link: Scan the settings page, typically near the bottom, for a link that says "Eyða aðgangi" (Delete Account).

  3. Confirm Deletion: You will be taken to a final confirmation page. Read the warning carefully. You may need to re-enter your password to confirm your identity. Click the final button to permanently delete your account.
