Cisco Webex

So you want to delete or reset your Cisco Webex account? Let's help you with that!

Our system has detected one of two potential issues:

  • Compromised Password: The password you use for Webex has been found in a known data breach, making it insecure and putting your account at risk.

  • Use of Work Email: Your work email is being used for a personal Webex account, which is against company policy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.

Please follow the relevant instructions below to resolve this issue immediately.

Part 1: Scenario: Your Password Has Been Compromised

If you were notified about a compromised password, you must change it immediately to protect your account, meeting history, and personal information.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Webex Sign-In Page: Go to the Webex sign-in page.

  2. Enter Your Email Address: Enter the email address associated with your Webex account and click "Next".

  3. Find the "Forgot Password" Link: On the next screen where you are asked for your password, click the link that says "Forgot password?".

  4. Check Your Email: Cisco Webex will send password reset instructions to your inbox. If you do not see the email, please check your spam or junk folder.

  5. Create a New, Strong Password: Open the email and follow the link to create a new password. Choose one that is strong, unique, and not used on any other website.

After completing this, your account will be secure.

If you were also notified about using a work email, please proceed to Part 2.

Part 2: Scenario: Your Work Email is Used on the Account

Using a company email for a personal collaboration tool is against Aftra's security policy. You have two options to resolve this.

Note: If your Webex account is managed by an organization (e.g., provided by an employer or school), you may not be able to change your email or delete the account yourself. In that case, you must contact your organization's IT administrator for assistance. The instructions below apply to free, personal Webex accounts.

Option A: Change the Email on Your Account (Recommended)

This is the best option if you wish to keep your Webex account and its associated history.

  1. Log In and Edit Your Profile: Log in to your Webex account. Click on your profile picture in the top-left corner and select "Edit my profile".

  2. Start the Change Process: A new browser tab will open with your profile settings. Next to your email address, click the "Edit" link. You will be asked to re-enter your password to proceed.

  3. Update and Verify Your Email: Enter your new personal email address. Webex will send a verification code to your new email. Enter that code when prompted to finalize the change.

Option B: Permanently Delete Your Account

If you no longer need your personal Webex account, you can delete it.

Warning: This action is permanent and irreversible. All your data, including profile information, messages, and files, will be permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.

  1. Go to the Webex Settings Page: Log in to the Webex settings portal.

  2. Locate the Deletion Link: Scroll to the bottom of the "My Profile" page. Click the link that says "Delete my account".

  3. Confirm Deletion: A pop-up window will appear, warning you that the action is permanent. You must tick the checkbox to acknowledge that you understand the consequences.

  4. Finalize Deletion: Click the final "Delete my account" button to permanently erase your account and all its data.

Thank you for taking prompt action to secure your account and comply with your company's security policies.
