Einkamál.is

So you want to delete or reset your Einkamál.is account? Let's help you with that!

Our system has detected one of two potential issues:

  • Compromised Password: The password you use for Einkamál.is has been found in a known data breach, making it insecure and putting your account at risk.

  • Use of Work Email: Your work email is being used for a personal service, which is against company policy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.

Please follow the relevant instructions below to resolve this issue immediately.

Part 1: Scenario: Your Password Has Been Compromised

If you were notified about a compromised password, you must change it immediately to protect your account and personal information. The fastest way to do this is using the "Forgot Password" feature.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Login Page: Go to the Einkamál.is homepage.

  2. Find the "Forgot Password" Link: In the login box, click the link directly below the password field that says "Gleymt lykilorð?" (Forgot password?).

  3. Enter Your Email Address: You will be taken to a new page. Enter the email address associated with your account into the field and click the "Senda" (Send) button.

  4. Check Your Email: Einkamál.is will send a password reset link to your inbox. If you do not see it, please check your spam or junk folder.

  5. Create a New, Strong Password: Open the email and click the reset link. Create a new password that is unique and not used on any other website.

After completing this, your account will be secure.

If you were also notified about using a work email, please proceed to Part 2.

Part 2: Scenario: Your Work Email is Used on the Account

Using a company email for a personal dating service is against Aftra's security policy. You have two options to resolve this.

Option A: Change the Email on Your Account (Recommended)

This is the best option if you wish to keep your Einkamál.is profile and its history (messages, connections, etc.).

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Log in to your Einkamál.is account. In the top navigation bar, click on "Stillingar" (Settings).

  2. Locate the Email Fields: On the settings page, find the section for changing your email. You will see fields for "Nýtt netfang" (New email) and "Staðfesta nýtt netfang" (Confirm new email).

  3. Update Your Email: Enter your new personal email address in both fields. You must also enter your current password in the "Núverandi lykilorð" (Current password) field to confirm the change. Click "Vista" (Save).

Option B: Permanently Delete Your Account

If you no longer need the account, you can delete it permanently.

Warning: This action is irreversible. All your data, including your profile, photos, messages, and all connections, will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered.

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Follow Step 1 from Option A to access your "Stillingar" (Settings) page.

  2. Locate the Deletion Link: Scan the settings page for the option to delete your account. This is often a link at the bottom of the page that says "Viltu eyða síðunni þinni?" (Do you want to delete your page?).

  3. Confirm Deletion: You will be taken to a final confirmation page. Read the warning carefully. You will be required to re-enter your password to confirm your identity. Click the final button, likely labeled "Já, eyða aðgangi" (Yes, delete account), to permanently erase your profile.

Thank you for taking prompt action to secure your account and comply with your company's security policies.
