Já.is
So you want to delete or reset your Já.is account? Let's help you with that!
Our system has detected one of two potential issues:
-
Compromised Password: The password you use for Já.is has been found in a known data breach, making it insecure and putting your account at risk.
-
Use of Work Email: Your work email is being used for a personal service, which is against company policy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
Please follow the relevant instructions below to resolve this issue immediately.
*Note as of October 2025 Já.is is moving from Emails to Rafræn Skilríki.
This means that it may appear as if you cannot login using email and password but it is still possible. This article and it's flagging will be removed when their transition is complete and we have verified that user and pass is no longer a valid login method.
Part 1: Scenario: Your Password Has Been Compromised
If you were notified about a compromised password, you must change it immediately to protect your account from unauthorized access. The fastest way to do this is using the "Forgot Password" feature, even if you still remember the old one.
Step-by-Step Guide:
-
Navigate to the Login Page: On the Já.is homepage you will only see the Rafræn Skilríki option. Click here on this link to login using email and password
"Innskrá | Nýskrá" (Log In | Register). -
Find the "Forgot Password" Link: A login window will appear. Below the password field, click the link that says "Gleymdirðu lykilorðinu?" (Forgot your password?).
-
Enter Your Email Address: You will be taken to a new page. Enter your work email address (the one associated with the account) into the field and click "Endursetja lykilorð" (Reset password).
-
Check Your Email: Já.is will send a password reset link to your inbox. If you don't see it, check your spam or junk folder.
-
Create a New, Strong Password: Open the email and click the reset link. Create a new password that is unique and not used on any other website.
After completing this, your account will be secure.
If you were also notified about using a work email, please proceed to Part 2.
Part 2: Scenario: Your Work Email is Used on the Account
