Myspace

So you want to delete or reset your Myspace account? Let's help you with that!

Our system has detected one of two potential issues with an old account you may have:

  • Compromised Password: The password you use for Myspace has been found in a known data breach, making it insecure and putting your account and its data at risk.

  • Use of Work Email: Your work email is being used for a personal social media service, which is against company policy to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.

Please follow the relevant instructions below to resolve this issue immediately.

Part 1: Scenario: Your Password Has Been Compromised

If you were notified about a compromised password, you must change it immediately, especially if you have old photos or personal data on the account. The best way to regain access is with the "Forgot Password" feature.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Password Reset Page: Go directly to the Myspace password reset page.

  2. Enter Your Email Address: Enter the email address associated with your Myspace account and click "Submit".

  3. Check Your Email: Myspace will send a password reset link to your inbox. Due to the age of the account, be sure to check the spam or junk folder.

  4. Create a New, Strong Password: Open the email and click the reset link. Create a new password that is strong, unique, and not used on any other website.

After completing this, your account will be secure.

If you were also notified about using a work email, please proceed to Part 2.

Part 2: Scenario: Your Work Email is Used on the Account

Using a company email for a personal social media account is against Aftra's security policy. You have two options to resolve this.

Option A: Change the Email on Your Account (Recommended)

This is the best option if you wish to keep your Myspace profile and any photos, music, or connections associated with it.

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Log in to your Myspace account. In the navigation bar (usually on the left), click on your profile icon (or a gear icon) and select "Settings".

  2. Locate Your Email Address: Ensure you are on the "Account" tab. You will see your email address listed with an "Edit" link next to it.

  3. Update Your Email: Click "Edit". A window will pop up asking for your new personal email address and your current password. Fill in the details and click "Save". Myspace may send a verification link to your new email to finalize the change.

Option B: Permanently Delete Your Account

If you no longer need the account or its contents, you can delete it permanently.

Warning: This action is permanent and immediate. All of your profile details, photos, videos, blogs, and connections will be instantly and irreversibly deleted. This action cannot be undone.

  1. Log In and Go to Settings: Follow Step 1 from Option A to access your account "Settings".

  2. Locate the Deletion Link: On the "Account" tab, scroll down and click the link that says "Delete Account".

  3. Confirm Deletion: Read the warning on the confirmation page carefully. You must tick the checkbox that says "Yes, I would like to permanently delete my Myspace account."

  4. Finalize Deletion: Click the final "Delete My Account" button to permanently erase your account and all of its content from the platform.

Thank you for taking prompt action to secure your account and comply with your company's security policies.
